MANILA, Philippines - Petron Blaze's back-up guard Joseph Yeo picked up the PBA Player of the Week honors after helping the Boosters arrest a 3-game slide last week against the Alaska Aces.

Yeo, a former De La Salle standout, fired 27 points, along with 8 rebounds and 4 assists, to lead Petron past the Aces, 86-80.

Petron needed every point from Yeo, as they were playing without rookie Chris Lutz and star point guard Dondon Hontiveros, who were both injured.

Yeo stepped up in a big way, starting off strong with 13 points in the opening quarter and 11 more points in the final period, including a lay-up that put the Boosters ahead by 4 points, 84-80, with just 34 seconds remaining in the game.

According to PBA.ph, the 27 points were Yeo's career high in a San Miguel/Petron uniform. Prior to that game, Yeo had only been averaging 7.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
