Coming into Rain or Shine’s game Wednesday against Powerade, Paul Lee was shooting just 20.4% from the three-point area. But he shot 4-of-6 from the three-point line tonight en route to a career-high 25 points, leading the Elasto Painters to a come-from-behind victory against the Tigers and taking first blood in their best-of-seven semis matchup.

Lee was the No. 2 overall pick in this season’s PBA draft, having been passed over by Powerade in favor of ace point guard JVee Casio. The former La Salle hotshot played well tonight with 12 points, but his production was still a bit below what was expected. Still, after recovering from injury, Casio has been an excellent floor general for the Tigers, and he’s expected to bounce back.

Last August, InterAKTV ran a debate featuring Casio and Lee’s respective merits as the top overall pick. Jaemark Tordecilla wrote a piece imploring Powerade to draft Paul Lee, while Mikkel Bolante argued for the Tigers to take JVee Casio.
