The league’s newest franchise,, has yet to win a game in its maiden tournament in the PBA.

But despite seven straight losses, the Clickers have won something else: the respect of other PBA teams.

“Don’t be deceived by their win-loss record,” Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao said in an interview with InterAKTV. “They may have yet to win a game, but you have to be wary more on the things they can do rather than see their win-loss record. Yun ang mas nakakatakot sa team nila.”

“I think Franz [Pumaren] is doing a decent job handling the team despite what he has in his squad.”
The Clickers are a ragtag bunch of young players and unsigned free agents thrown together at the last minute before the start of the season.

B-MEG coach Tim Cone cites the lack of talent of, but not its lack of effort. He believes it’s only a matter of time before the Clickers nail an upset.

“They play hard, they really played hard,” Cone said. “They need to to play hard because that’s the only chance for them to win. The moment they don’t play hard, they get spanked. But I believe they’re going beat somebody along the line. To my mind, Franz is doing a fantastic job on what he has over there.”

Barangay Ginebra nearly fell prey to’s upset axe, needing to rally from five points down under a minute left before prevailing in overtime.

“Mahirap kalaban ang kasi lagi silang laban and panay pahirapan sa mga teams,” said Ginebra coach Siot Tanquingcen. “It’s hard to beat a team that relies on hard work and that’s what this team has been doing and they’ve been doing it efficiently.”

Pumaren said management and coaching staff are very patient with the squad, even though the Clickers have yet to win a game halfway the elimination stage of the tournament.

“I think we’re a strong D-League or collegiate league team,” Pumaren said in jest. “The team was only built two weeks before the season started and hindi naman sa minamaliit ko yung team ko, but the players here are composed of discards.”

Guiao said it’s not yet the proper time to make judgments on

“To be fair, teams should be evaluated after one season wherein everyone has adjusted to the system and necessary changes have already been made,” said Guiao. “ is improving game by game and that’s a good sign.”

“Kami, with Rain or Shine, we’ve been together for a full season and that’s the reason why we’re slowly but surely gaining success. This is the fruit of our labor for one whole season. Last season, we made changes, trading players and making player movements. I’m sure will have changes along the way and the more time they will play together, they will develop maturity and become a better team.”
